Old Town Centre at Fosdinovo, Tuscany

Chiesa Parrocchiale di San Remigio (13th century)
The original building was probably built in the thirteenth century by order of the Bishops of Luni. Subsequent transformations, and in particular the refurbishment in the sixteenth century after a fire altered its structure, turning it into the baroque building that we know today with one single nave, a presbytery and a choir. Inside the church you can find the tomb of Galeotto Malaspina.

Oratorio della Compagnia dei Bianchi (16th century sec.)
The building was built after 1501, the year in which the old building was destroyed. It had the same name “Oratorio della Compagnia”, an ancient religious congregation.
The white marble facade dates back to the late seventeenth century.
The interior, in splendid Baroque style, contains altars made of polychromatic marble standing around the lateral walls. At the high altar you can admire a statue of the Virgin Mary, a wooden sculpture dating back to the fifteenth century.
