Outside the Town Centre at Fosdinovo, Tuscany

Ponzanello (12th century)
The fortified town was developed in various historical phases and has three gates still standing along the walls. The fortress that stands on the hill above the town appears as a fortified residence. Built in several phases, the la test work dates back to the fourteenth and fifteenth century. The strategic position of the castrum of Ponzanello probably made this one of the most important settlements controllino the access to the north Tyrrhenian coast from inland.

Audiovisual Museum of the Resistance
The Museum is located in an area where the war and the public executions of civilians left an indelible mark. This museum is dedicated to the memory of the Resistance: the “memory, which is the object of the museum consists of audiovisual documents (interviews, images, etc…) put “on show”, using multimedia instruments that create an interactive relationship with the visitor. The museum ha salso a photographic library with photos of the Resistance in the Apuan and Luni areas as well as a collection of publications on the history of the Resistance and its implications on a national and European level.
