Churches in Borgo di San Lorenzo near Florence

Chiesa di Santa Maria a Olmi (church of Saint Mary in Olmi): built in the 9th century. It is interesting to see the the big polichromatic glass window above the main entrance that represents the "Christ the King".

Chiesa di Santa Maria a Pulicciano (church of Santa Maria in Pulicciano): built in the 13th century. It is worth seeing the "Assumption of the Virgin Mary", attributed to Andrea del Sarto and the "Annunciation", above the left altar; the latter can be traced back to the 15th century.

Pieve di San Giovanni Maggiore (Parish country church of Saint Giovanni Maggiore): built in the 12th century. On the side lies the peculiar hexagonal bell tower. There are also beautiful glass windows by the Chini manufacture.

Chiesa di San Michele a Ronta (church of Saint Michele in Ronta): this church was built on the ruins of the Vallombrosana Abbey in 1715. Inside there are many paintings of the 18th century and a famous Crucifix of the 15th century.

Santuario della Madonna dei tre fiumi (Sanctuary of the Madonna of the three rivers): built towards the end of the 16th century. Its name comes from the fact that it was built at the confluence of three rivers. Inside there is an interesting "Madonna with the baby" of the 16th century attributed to Jacopo Chimenti.

Chiesa di San Michele a Figliano (church of Saint Michele in Figliano): it is worth visiting the church in order to see the fresco representing the "Lady of the Annuciation" attributed to the school of Giotto.

Chiesa di San Pietro a Luco (church of Saint Peter in Luco): built in the 13th century. Inside, above the high altar, there is a copy of the " Deposition from the Cross"; the original painted by Andrea Del Sarto is the Uffizi Gallery.
