Things to see in Londra in the Val di Sieve near Florence

Upon entering Londa, coming from Contea, you can immediately see the double arched stone bridge built in 1871. The waterway park is on the recently built banks.

The road rises and then goes beneath a primitive portico which turns onto the Umberto I square. The square is oblong and slightly upwardly slanted, an ideal place for open air performances. There is a fountain by the engineer Tito Gori, the Propositura della Santissima Concezione, and also the Municipal Place.

Londa is well known for its lake, an artificial basin on the waters of the Rincine, noted for good fishing thanks to the re-population that takes place every year.
Exiting the chief muncipality on the road to Stia, is the Church of St. Maria a Caiano, dating back to 1100, which belonged to the monks of Vallombrosa. Along the municipal road Londa-Ricine, in Petroio, is the Church of S. Stefano, rebuilt over an older one (11th-12th century).

The Parish Church of St. Elena in Rincine is the most significant building of worship in the area. In Leolino, the 12th century church contains the remains of a saint.

The recent introduction of the “Sentiero degli Etruschi” (Pathway of the Etruscans) that invites you to discover the millenary evidence of the presence of man cohabitating with savage nature.

A visit to the National Park of the Forests of the Casentino is a must.
