San Godenzo in the Val di Sieve in Tuscany

The municiipality of San Godenzo is the most extensive of the Sieve valley (after Pontassieve, at the joining point of the Sieve and the Arno) and is also the most mountainous with a difference of level between the highest point (Mount Falco 1658 metres) and the lowest poiont ( Ponte alla Corella 240 metres) of over 1400 metres.

The Castagno valley presents a roughly Alpine scenery with its steep mountains and deep valleys. The territory occupies all of the valley of the Godenzo stream which flows from the Massiccio del Falterona to the Ponte alla Corella near Dicomano.
