Where to see the Machines and Inventions of Leondardo in Vinci near Florence

The Leonardian Museum: it is located inside the Castle, and constitutes one of the largest and most original collections of machines and models by Leonardo the inventor, technologist, engineer. The machines on display ranges over different areas of study: there are military machines, those of construction, scientific instruments and machines for moving by air, sea and land. The detatched parts of the museum, Palazzini Uzielli, have exhibiting areas for temporary shows and a didactic hall for cultural programs.

The Leonardian Library: a center of the complete documentation and specialization of the works of Leonardo. It houses fac-simile reproductions of all of Leonardo’s manuscripts and designs.
The Church of S. Croce: is part of the complex of the Castle of the Guidi Counts. It is of Romanic origin and contains a baptismal basin, where, leggend narrates, Leonardo was baptised.

The Ideal “Leonardo da Vinci” Museum: a private gallery, located in the cellar of the Castle, where antique agricultural instruments and material from exhibitions about Leonardo are displayed.
The Man from Vinci: a wooden sculpture by M. Ceroli. In 1987 inspired by the famous Vitruvio man by Leonardo, is located in the square behind the Leonardian Museum.

Leonardo’s Birthplace - in the Anchiano hamlet: a farmhouse in the open countryside containg a map of the Arno valley drawn by Leonardo.

The Church of Saint John the Baptist – Anchiano hamlet, the Church of S.Maria Assunta – Faltognano hamlet and the Church of S. Pietro – S.Amato hamlet: ancient parish churches to visit also because of their beautiful panoramic positions.
