Bibbona, in Toskana
Bibbona, das bereits zur Eisenzeit und dann unter den Etruskern bekannt war, liegt auf einem flachen Hügel. Die architektonische Struktur einer antiken, bewohnten Festung ist erhalten geblieben.
In der Altstadt, wo charakteristische Gassen und mittelalterliche Plätze einander abwechseln, befindet sich die wegen seiner Schönheit besonders interessante Pfarrei San Ilario aus dem 11. Jahrhundert. Die Kirche Santa Maria della Pietà aus der Renaissance gilt als hervorragendes Beispiel für Kirchen mit der Form eines griechischen Kreuzes.
Sie wurde Ende des 15. Jh. erbaut und liegt genau am Ortseingang. Der Sitz des alten Rathauses (Comune Vecchio) ist ein mittelalterliches Gebäude und ein Symbol für die reichen, alten Traditionen des bürgerlichen Lebens in den Orten der Region. Zeugnisse dafür werden im historischen Archiv des Rathauses aufbewahrt.
Beeindruckende Veranstaltungen, die sich auf die Folklore und die alten Traditionen berufen, wie "die Prozessio" und das "Palio delle Botti" (Fässerrennen), finden in dem Ort vor einem wirklich eindrucksvollen Hintergrund statt.
