How to Get to Elba

 

By Car:
The nearest port is Piombino, where there are two different ferry companies:Toremar and Mobylines.
The frequency of the connections varies according to the seasons.

 

During winter there are 15 daily trips.
From May to September there is a ferry every 30 minutes.

 

The crossing from Piombino to Portoferraio on the Island of Elba takes around 50 minutes.

 

Toremar ferries also go to Rio Marina (45 minutes) and Porto Azzurro (90 minutes). During high season it is a good idea to book in advance. Passengers may also reach the island with the Toremar hydrofoil.

 

It takes 15 minutes to reach Cavo and 30 minutes to reach Portoferraio.

 

IF YOU ARE COMING FROM THE NORTH:
Motorway Genoa-Livorno, exit at Rosignano.
Continue on the Livorno–Grosseto highway until Venturina.
From there it is just a few minutes drive to Piombino.

 

IF YOU ARE COMING FROM THE NORTH-EAST:
Motorway Bologna–Florence–Pisa–Livorno, exit at Rosignano.
Continue on the Livorno–Grosseto highway until Venturina, and then it is just 15 km to the port of Piombino.

 

IF YOU ARE COMING FROM THE SOUTH:
Motorway Rome–Grosseto, continue on the Aurelia Road until the exit Venturina–Isola d'Elba.

 


BY AEROPLANE
The Airport is at Marina di Campo. The runway is 1185 m. long and paved.

 

BY TRAIN
From Campiglia Station, on the railway line Genoa–Roma,
there are connections to Piombino Marittima.
