Things to see in Montelupo Fiorentino, Tuscany
The priory of S. Giovanni Evangelista: built around 1326, preserves interesting works of art, among which is a particular plate depicting a “Madonna with Child among the Saints” of the Botticelli school.
The Archaeological and Ceramic Museum: contains a collection of interest and is set up on two themes: the archaeology of the territory and the history of ceramic in Montelupo. The archaeological part documents over twenty years of escavation and research, thanks to which, one of the most important collections of Prehistoric art in Tuscany has been formed in Montelupo. The sector dedicated to ceramics demonstrates the presence of this production in Montelupo since its origins (late 13th century) until modern times.
