Montenero et son sanctuaire - Toscane
Sur les collines, le bourg panoramique de Montenero, une localité touristique connue depuis le XVIII siècle pour ses paysages de grande beauté, abrite le Sanctuaire de Montenero consacré à S. Maria delle Grazie, (Ste Marie des Grâces) Sainte Patronne de la Toscane.
Un large escalier, du haut duquel on peut admirer une vue magnifique de la ville et de la mer, nous conduit au Sanctuaire. Avant l’entrée de l’église s’ouvre un atrium en ellipse décoré de fresques ; sur la droite une galerie accueille le “Famedio” (temple de la Renommée), où l’on peut voir les monuments funèbres de personnages illustres de Livorno, parmi lesquels les peintres Enrico Pollastrini, Giovanni Fattori et le sculpteur Paolo Emilio Demi.
A travers le Sanctuaire, splendidement décoré de stucs et de marbres polychromes, en passant par la sacristie, on accède à une longue Galerie d’ex-voto, témoignages de la dévotion populaire, particulièrement consacrés au culte marial.
